About Me

Hello and Welcome to Foundations Counselling. At Foundations Counselling you are supported in a safe, confidential and peaceful environment, where you can explore your feelings with a qualified and experienced counsellor.

Counselling is a talking therapy, in general it is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth and find the answers they are looking for themselves.

In life what we say to others can sometimes have a knock on affect, altering relationships and the way people see each other. Counselling eliminates this problem and offers you the space and freedom to explore your own thoughts and feelings with an unbiased party. Counselling can help you understand yourself better and the way you think, which will ultimately help you develop a clearer understanding of your problems.

I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and work in the approaches of Person Centered, Transactional Analysis (T.A) and Gestalt. I also use C.B.T theory if required. To see these approaches in more depth please look on the “How I Work Page”. Humanistic Integrative Counselling is an approach that systematically considers the whole person, mind, body and spirit. Working in a Humanistic approach provides support so you the client can explore freely your whole life experience rather than singular blocks. Particular attention is paid to combining the past, present and future instead of concentrating on one specific area, problem or issue. The aim of humanistic therapy is to help you the client develop a stronger, healthier sense of self, as well as access and understand your feelings to help gain a sense of meaning in life. Counselling is a talking therapy and this explains how I work in the counselling room with my clients.

Listed below are some of the areas I work in. If what you are experiencing is not included in the list please contact me and make an inquiry on the contact form and we can talk about this. It is impossible to list everything but this will give you some idea of what I can help you work through. Abuse, addiction, affairs, anxiety, anger issues/management, bereavement, children leaving home(empty nest), depression, difficulties with trust and commitment, divorce, hoarding, families coping with members of their family with substance abuse, loneliness, low self confidence, low self esteem, life transitions, loss.
